Bad Day

Exene Cervenka and Modi Frank have finally released their short western film from the 80′s entitled “Bad Day” and it is available as digital download at Bad Day.

“Bad Day” features legendary X front man John Doe, Academy Award winner Kevin Costner, Grammy Award winner Dave Alvin, and Academy Award winner Michael Blake. Also appearing in the film are Doug Knott, Chris Desjardins, Jenny Aust, Julie Christensen, Gigi Blair, Gil T, Paul Greenstein and the late Peter Haskell.

Viewers will be able to pay whatever they want for the download in order to view and a portion of the proceeds from “Bad Day” are going to Gulf Coast aid organizations that help the people affected in the Gulf region. (my emphasis – So check it out, and you can feel extra good about it as well.)

Writer & Director disagreed about the ending

Bryan Singer and Christopher McQuarrie disagreed about the ending to The Usual Suspects:

One of us believed that the story was all lies, peppered with little bits of the truth. And the other one believed it was all true, peppered with tiny, little lies. … We each thought we were making a movie that was completely different from what the other one thought.

After my first viewing I believed that Verbal was constructing the story on the fly, which is why I absolutely loved the movie. It was the eventual realization by the investigators that so many details of Verbal’s story were plucked from various objects around the room that seemed so clever to me, and implied that it was all made up. In subsequent viewings I believe that the intention of the movie was that Verbal was, in fact, telling the truth, thereby diminishing my excitement about the film.

Oh hell!

I’m stuck and I can’t get out. I wouldn’t necessarily label it as time-wasting, but I had a tough time breaking away to get other things done.
