You betchya ass, they do.

This is going to be a good week. Three different times to catch the Hundred Dollar Jayhawks playing live in Salem: Saturday, day, at the Summer in the City; Saturday, evening, Pete’s Place; & Sunday at The Space.

Hell, even if you don’t like me, you should stop by because:

Jeani & Liam returned from 3 weeks in Minnesota. While they both had a great time visiting Grandma & Grandpa Behr, I missed them terribly. So we made today an informal ‘take your kid to work’ day. Liam’s here at the studio with me:
(And he’s an Apple fanboy.)
Great photoshoot with Grand Duchy today (Violet Clark, Charles Thompson (aka Frank Black), Jason Carter).
Here’s a shot of Jake, my assistant.

The nice thing about the new studio is that when I’m stuck behind the computer processing images, people still swing by allowing me to still take shots.

Well, after tomorrow that is. Our summer camp will be finished tomorrow.
“So what’s been going on, Will?”
Let me tell you.
I’ve moved into the new studio. I’ll be spending much time here the next two weeks. Jeani & Liam are in Minnesota til the end of the month. I’ve got a few photo shoots lined up over this period, but I want more (hint, hint). If you’ve wanted to do a shoot, this is a great time to call.
Also, please stop by as I’m right downtown (349 State St., Salem, Oregon). We’ll have some coffee & talk.
(if you’re viewing this on the front page, there are some iphone shots of the new space after the jump)

I was fortunate to be invited to the open house for Wavelength Studio located here in Salem. Wavelength Studio is one of the most complete and professional studios located in all of Oregon, and I would posit the West Coast. Well, you don’t come here to read my words, some photos:

Jason Carter & his beautiful daughter, Echo. Wavelength is Jason’s studio.

Silver Sørensen & her beautiful daughter, Echo.

Celebrating Jeani’s garden, and all her hard work.

Here’s the photo:

I’m not a writer. For some reason I’m hearing the J.Peterman descriptions from Seinfeld. See, I’m not a writer.
I’ve been doing some work for the Salem Chamber Orchestra recently. I haven’t finished processing all the photos yet, but here’s a taste. A couple of headshots:

(Please Click Here for info about Senior Photos)

While I’m known more for my live music and music promotion, commercial & editorial photography, I do more personal photography as well (e.g. Senior Photos, Family Photos, etc.) One of my strengths is making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. This is especially true of the guys. Now how do you advertise that fact, and not come off as creepy?

Anyways, if you talk with anyone (male or female) who has worked with me, you will here the same response – that I make them comfortable in front of the camera. I take pride in that fact, and believe that goes a long way in creating the type of images you want.

I’ve created a new site that focuses on my more personal portrait work – seniors, families, etc. Check it out.
Hopefully you were able to catch the live music at Pete’s Place this past Saturday. Jeremy Crofoot opened, followed by Mark Lemhouse & that other guy (just kidding – great drummer, David Fender), and closed with The Nettles. Brilliant stuff.

This card is worth $25 off my session fee. It will be available around downtown Salem, or leave me a comment.

Natalie is one of the most talented and creative people I know:

While sitting at my desk in my studio, what should pass by? A very cool Book Mobile, the rolling library:
