It’s hard to get them to NOT pose.

Been off the internet grid for most of the week, but for good reason. I’ll mention it tomorrow. I just needed to post at least one photo this week!

iPhone photos of our evening out:
Dinner at Straight from New York Pizza. As much as he likes the pizza, it’s the lollipops.

Then over the new pedestrian bridge across the Willamette River for his favorite activity of all – throwing rocks into the water.

Just cuz I wanted to see it again, and a bit bigger this time. And yes, I know it goes over into my menu bar… but I’m just waiting until it works its way down past the menu bar on the right….and then I can see it at a decent size…and then that’ll make me happy….that reminds me – I need to widen this design…the photos always have to be too small…

Itsy Bitsy Bakeshop
Posted on September 23rd, 2009 by Will.
How absolutely cool and scrumptious is this?!?

Many of you will recognize this shot from an earlier post, but it’s totally worth a post of its own.
From the Itsy Bitsy Bakeshop’s website:
The Itsy Bitsy Bakeshop is a domestic bakery baking delicious gourmet cupcakes in Salem, Oregon. We use only fresh, natural ingredients in our cupcakes- no mixes here! Our cupcakes taste homemade because they are homemade. Our kitchen is inspected and licensed by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
Amy Barr is a fabulous person and maker of cupcakes. Yummy, beautiful cupcakes! Right here in Salem. You can be guaranteed I will be using any excuse to order many, many cupcakes.
The Best Camera & Chase Jarvis
Posted on September 22nd, 2009 by Will.
So Chase Jarvis worked with software developers Ubermind to create thebestcamera.com – iPhone App , a combination iPhone app and social media site.
Of course, I bought it, and I have to say I’m happy overall. I think the crop feature needs some work, and because the shutter lag is quite long at times, there needs to be a straighten feature as well.
Given Chase’s popularity and social media presence, this should do very well. (This popularity is well deserved.) Naturally, I’m going to blame him for giving me another time-suck with the ability to see photos from others in real time.
A couple quick shots I took while getting my morning coffee:
Flower Entrance, Funeral Home.

Wedding Photographer, Salem, Oregon
Posted on September 2nd, 2009 by Will.

I’m often asked if I shoot weddings.
I don’t advertise I do weddings. (this post excepted)
The answer is more complicated than it should be. But the quick and easy answer is yes, I do shoot weddings.
To briefly elaborate, I think it’s fairly important that you like and respect your photographer to get the results you desire. As I feel strongly about this, I don’t just accept any job, especially weddings, unless we meet first and decide if we are a ‘fit’ for one another.
This is a (severely) abridged example of a wedding I shot recently in Forest Grove, Oregon:
Just a few more examples:

Summer is back
Posted on August 18th, 2009 by Will.
It’s supposed to hit mid 90s (Fahrenheit) today, and 99 tomorrow. I don’t deal with the heat really well, but I’m kind of happy that the summer isn’t over at the same time. Plus it allows me to post a quick photo capture of Jewelia, yesterday.
