While sitting at my desk in my studio, what should pass by? A very cool Book Mobile, the rolling library:

Late, late night in Salem.
It’s supposed to hit mid 90s (Fahrenheit) today, and 99 tomorrow. I don’t deal with the heat really well, but I’m kind of happy that the summer isn’t over at the same time. Plus it allows me to post a quick photo capture of Jewelia, yesterday.

Meet Jack, I did. Had a couple of beers together, and while talking, I learned he’s an honest to god, rocket scientist (retired). How cool is that?!?

In all honesty, The Union has expanded to include more participants as it’s becoming a collective. But can’t let reality affect my post titles. I had referenced this post and photo of Jared Blume as one half of The Union. Anyway, Jaysen Peters (also a talented musician and involved in many bands),

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything shot on medium format film. And this being Monday, and this being a morning & coffee (kinda) related photo, I thought it would be appropriate. Plus Sam is great to photograph.
While at the Someday Lounge last night to catch the Hundred Dollar Jayhawks show, turned out that Rob Walmart (myspace, Rob Walmart site) was playing across the street. Popped out and caught a bit of the show and captured some photos (obvs). I’ll have photos of the Hundred Dollar Jayhawks, and the band Arizona up soon.

I’ve talked to ‘Gus’ a few times, and given him some cash when I could. Today we agreed on a trade. I’d still give him a couple of bucks, and he’d let me take a portrait.

Congratulations! (downtown Salem)
While walking back from grabbing my morning coffee, I noticed this family crossing the street. I couldn’t resist and asked if I could take a quick snapshot of them. Turned out they had just gotten married at the downtown courthouse! We didn’t have time to get to a better location, but I gave them my contact info and I hope they will be happy with these quick photos.
Here’s hoping for nothing but the best for them in their life together. Congratulations!
This was kind of an experiment. I usually shoot in manual mode 95% of the time. I shot this quickly before adjusting my settings, and blew out the highlights (by accident). Did a lomo effect and got this – by the way her eyes are really intense even w/o this treatment.
